Woohoo!
Welder Guy sold his first trommel! He put them on Ebay two weeks ago, and nothing happened, so we relisted it last Sunday and it got up to $430, but didn't meet the reserve of $500 so it didn't sell. Anyways, it gave us the option to sell it to the highest bidder for $430 so we did. This is so exciting for us! Welder Guy is going to start building it tonight, and we'll get it sent out asap, and then Welder Guy can get some feedback as a seller instead of just a buyer. I'm so excited!

A New Venture
So last weekend, Welder Guy came home from serving at a FFA Dinner and decided to post his "creation" on ebay. Now, I'm a big fan of ebay, and an even bigger fan of my husband, but this is a rather new venture for us. He built a Gold Mining Trommel and decided it would be a fantastic idea to sell it on ebay. It cost about $250 to make, and they sell from $800-$1500. Well, I'm all for this venture, as extra money never killed anyone, and I've been helping him out as much as possible. Last week I just sat and supported as the days dwindled down, and no bids were placed on his listing. So, this morning, he lowered the starting price a bit, had me take some videos of it working, and we reposted it. We've got one or two bids on it, but no reserve price has been met yet, which is okay. I don't really want to lose my husband as he makes these machines for people, but I know how important it is to support him in this venture. I'm really excited for him and am hoping that he does well with this, but I'm a little skeptical too. I'll keep you updated on how we're doing. The auction expires next Sunday morning.

New layout
I'm sticking with this one (the "zoo" or something like that). The one I had the other day was black, white and pink, but it looked funky and people couldn't post comments without having a blogspot account. I'm pretty sure anyone can post comments now. And I love the giraffe. <3
Ice Cream
I made ice cream. And it's fantastic! I wanted to make peach or raspberry ice cream, but Welder Guy wanted to grow a pineapple from a pineapple top (yes, you can actually do that), so he bought a pineapple and we decided to do pineapple/coconut ice cream.
Here is the recipe:
4 cups milk/half and half/cream
2 cups whipping cream
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
Mix all ingredients until sugar is disolved and put into your ice cream maker to freeze.
It took our ice cream maker about an hour, and then I scooped it out and put it in a bowl with a lid on it and put it in the freezer. Of course I had to taste it. It's delicious, but I think next time we'll use our normal recipe (I don't have it so I found another to use for this batch of ice cream). Anyways, I'm just waiting for Welder Guy to get home from the dump so we can have dinner. We're having a pork roast that I put in the crockpot last night with some beer, garlic, salt, pepper, onion, carrots, potatoes and a little bit of water. It smells sooooooo good!

Pictures from Winnemucca
Here are a few pictures from our Winnemucca trip. We were gone from September 1st to September 7th, and we had a blast, despite completely killing Welder Guys's bike and temporarily killing FIL's bike.

So I wasn't "tagged" but I stole a survey...
What is your husband's name?
His name is Welder Guy. Well, at least on here it is.
How long have you been married?
A little over three months.
How long did you date?
We dated over three years before getting engaged and were married right before our four year anniversary.
How old is he?
He is 25
Who eats sweets?
We both do, but different kinds of sweets. Welder Guy loves cookies and cake and brownies and the such and I love candy.
Who said "I Love You" first?
I did. Almost three months after we started dating.
Who is taller?
He is by 14 inches.
Who can sing best?
Neither one of us is very good, but we both do it.
Who is smarter?
We are equally smart, just about different things.
Who does the laundry?
I do most of it, but he does his when he's running out of something.
Who pays the bills?
We each pay the same bills we paid before we got married.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
If you are standing at the foot of our bed, facing it, I'm on the right.
Who mows the lawn?
He does. Speaking of, it needs it... bad.
Who cooks dinner?
We both do... it depends. If I work til 8, dinner is normally done about the time I get home, but if I'm off or not working at night, I cook.
Who drives?
Usually he does, but it really just depends on which car we take.
Who is the first to admit they are wrong?
We're both really bad about this!
Who kissed who first?
He kissed me. On our first date. In the car.
Who asked who out first?
I asked him to meet me at the drive-ins for our very first date, but he asked me to be his girlfriend later on.
Who wears the pants?
We both do. I'm not big on the "dominant/submissive" rolls that a lot of husbands and wives pull off, mostly because while I feel that he is the provider for our family, I'm not going to be a slave and I'm not going to keep quiet when I have an opinion.
How did you meet?
We met for our first date on June 17th, 2005 at the driveins. We had been talking and I asked him to meet me and my best friend at the time, who was also going to meet her bf at the driveins...

Trying out a new layout
I think I like it. It's not exactly what I was going for, but it's a nice change from the dots I had before. I'll see if it grows on me... I might have to "hire" someone to make one for me... A friend, not someone I pay... I'm just not html smart anymore. *sad face*

Winnemucca was... GREAT!
We went to Winnemucca and had a blast. Welder Guy and I left home at 3pm on Tuesday, September 1st, and pulled into the sand dunes at 930pm. Unfortunately, we got stuck getting in thru the soft sand, so we spent the night in the entrance, and got out the next morning and spent Wednesday night out by the highway. FIL and MIL pulled in Wednesday night late and we all spent the night by the highway. Thursday morning, FIL and Welder Guy took another look at the entrance and decided FIL's truck would make it aired down, so we ran to town and bought an air compressor so that they could air down and not drive back to town to have to air up when we left. So we got back to the dunes, and FIL aired down and made it thru in one try, then came back out to the road and got Welder Guys's truck and trailer and pulled us in. Thursday night, Mr. Patterson and his Mrs. were due up, but they made it so late that they stayed in town and came out to the dunes Friday morning. Their dog, Tug, is the cutest thing ever by the way. We went on some good rides (long and tired and rides where we saw new things), and we went on some not so good rides (one ride in particular where my nose started bleeding because of how dry it was up there and wouldn't stop bleeding, or the ride where Welder Guy KILLED his bike, or the one where he was on FIL's bike and he broke the spark plug while it was in the motor!). All in all, it was a great time and we got some great pictures.
